Palestine ( A MUST READ)

I liked to share that poem that touched me very much. There's no words to describ it...
Please take note the following poem is written by Rafeef Ziadah and not by me. The poem was published in the Magazine Siafu/ January 2006. Here it is :

I am from refugess camp in Lebanon where most of us went through the 1982 invasion of Lebanon and I can safely say that many members of my family survived although with severe peychological disorders. And whenever we go see doctors, the first thing they tell us is :"Just take a pill". The poem you are abou to read is a true story that happened to someone and it shows how everyone is dealing with it.

Why do I fight?
I fight for the woman
drapped in black
still looking for bodies in
Shatila

For the woman who thaught me
Palestine
Patiently
Passionately
In the smell of oranges from
Jaffa
And the key of our old house
hanging on the wall

For the woman
who hid me under the bed
Silently
Calmly
Pretending
everything was all right
When nothing was all right
And told me
That by the end of a prayer
It would be all done
And by the end of that prayer,
It was all done

For the little girl who watched
And watched
That September 82
As Sharon put the snake
in the baby's crib
And asked it
to settle the score

Watched Palestine
Lie screaming
Raped
Watched Palestine
Lie screaming
Raped
by 18 men
Her legs spread apart
And the little girl
could not understand
As most people slept

Do you remember
Where you were that night?
As they pissed on her warm body
I lost the words
I lost the time
And I lost even the pain
Only kept her will to fight

That's why I fight
For the woman
who couldn't watch me grow up
A nameless martyr
From Shatila

I, I
I just can't see you cry
Curled up in a ball
Next to a man
who loved his revolution
More than he ever loved you
Not knowing
That you were a walking
Talking
Breathing Palestine

Carried her on your back
And in your womb
For fifty seven years
Waiting for liberation

You were the one who sat
on the cold bare cement
Of an immigration
detention cell
And gave birht
to you first girl
Carried the memories
of those maimed and totured
Through airports
And luggage
thats would be cheked
And doubled checked
Because you had
the wrong last name

And all your doctors deliberate
And say;
Just take a pill
And the voices in your head
will disappear
Numb every thought of suicide
Erase years of dispossession

Your brothers lined up
against the wall
As you pressed
their dead bodies
into your chest
And let their blood soak
your dress

But THEY want you to take a pill
To erase your history
Our history
Stateless
And refugess
While others live on your land

They handed out
smallpox blankets
Yelling about savages
And the hand out death
From US-made planes
Yelling about terrorists
And want you to take a pill
To erase your history
Our history
Stateless
And refugess
But between your body
And their reality
Lie uprooted olive trees
Orange groves
And Palestine

I , I
I just can't see you cry
Curled up in a ball
Next to a man
who loved his revolution
More than he ever loved you
Not knowing
that you were a walking
Talking
Breathing Palestine

Carried her on your back
And in you womb
For fifty seven years
Waiting
Still waiting for liberation
